Some great updates from Two Rivers Public Charter School. Jessica Wodatch updated neighbors on the latest activities going on at the school/s. Some of the grants helping with public space improvements at the Elementary School described below came from: Safe Routes to School, DC Department of the Environment, Lowe's, Capitol Hill Community Foundation, and the Chesapeake Bay Trust. A parent committee helped design the public space improvements.

Here are the details:

Hello neighbors!  You may have noticed some additional construction at the corner of 4th and Florida - I wanted to share what we're doing at Two Rivers.

As you already know, we've been constructing a new building on 4th Street (1234).  This building is almost complete and will be open for our middle school students at the end of this month!  This building includes classroom space and a small gym.  We plan to have an open house for the community this fall - we'll keep you posted.

In front of our existing building (1227 4th), we are making some improvements to the public space.  We have more than 5 grants to help beautify this area and now, finally, have the permits to make it happen. We'll be installing environmentally-friendly pavers, creating some seat walls, and planting trees!  This should be completed in the next few weeks.

Thanks for your support.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
