Juvenile Crime Task Force Recommendations

While crime in the District and Ward 6 is generally decreasing, crimes committed by juveniles remain a significant problem and in some neighborhoods, appear to be growing in their intensity and violence. In an effort to create a strategic approach to reforms and efforts that target juvenile crime, I created a Task Force in early November 2008 to bring some of the best thinking to the table to research, develop and propose various concrete recommendations to decrease juvenile crime in the Ward.

The recommendations are based on data, research and neighborhood suggestions, and can be accessed through the links below. My next step is to host three community meetings (each in a different neighborhood) to collect further feedback, seeking input how best we should move forward with the recommendations.
