Join Tommy Wells at Southwest Safeway Tonight to Help Fight Prostate Cancer Councilmember Tommy Wells will serve as a guest bagger at Safeway’s Southwest Waterfront store, located at 1100 4th St. SW, today between 5 and 6 pm and invites residents to join him. The effort is coordinated with Safeway’s fundraising and awareness campaign to battle prostate cancer being held through July 3. Councilmember Wells will bag groceries for customers using free reusable bags being provided by Safeway. “I’m proud to support this partnership with Safeway and Prostate Cancer Foundation to battle prostate cancer,” stated Wells. Councilmember Wells will bag groceries for customers passing through the checkstands and contributions will be collected to support the prostate cancer campaign. Safeway is attempting to raise at least $12 million in the effort to find a cure for prostate cancer with all monies being raised being donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. |
