Hello All!! Our office has been asked to share some important information that could save you lots of cash.

Recently the DC Department of the Environment/Energy Office partnered with the Energy Programs Consortium to sponsor an energy efficient program that could benefit home owners. The program, titled District of Columbia Weatherization, Rehabilitation, and Asset Preservation Program (DC WRAP) provides grants for direct services in the homes of eligible home owners to improve their energy efficiency and housing affordability.

DCWRAP could provide eligible home owners with up to $2,300 in DCWRAP Weatherization improvements for  a variety of cost-effective energy efficiency measures including lighting, insulation, furnace and air conditioning maintenance and repair and refrigerator and appliance replacement.  Each home will receive a comprehensive energy audit at no cost to determine what energy efficient measures would likely benefit the home.

If you are a homeowner and use your District home as your primary residence, DCWRAP is asking for a few things to help determine whether you are eligible.  You must: (1) show proof that the home is owned and occupied by you; (2) the home is not in danger of receivership by the City for unpaid taxes or loans; and (3) your total family income falls within the range below for your family size:

- Household Size 1 - Annual Income $33,100 - $42,000
- Household Size 2 - Annual Income $37,800 - $48,000
- Household Size 3 - Annual Income $42,550 - $54,000
- Household Size 4 - Annual Income $47,250 - $60,000
- Household Size 5 - Annual Income $51,050 - $64,800
- Household Size 6 - Annual Income $54,800 - $69,600
- Household Size 7 - Annual Income $58,600 - $74,000
- Household Size 8 - Annual Income $62,350 - $79,200

The program is limited to 188 units in DC.  In order to determine your eligibility for this Program, please contact Mr. Robert Adams at 202 624-5867 at the DCWRAP office to request the DCWRAP Referral Form.  Once eligibility is confirmed, DCWRAP will arrange for an energy audit and install energy improvement measures in your home.
