Ludlow-Taylor Community Meeting, March 18th, 6-8 PM

Another Capitol Hill school renewal is underway!  A group of neighborhood families has been working for about a year toward positive changes for Ludlow-Taylor, and now, we are excited to share the news that DCPS has committed to making changes to create a community-based school with new leadership for the 2008-09 school year.

DCPS is hosting a meeting where third-party facilitators will lead staff and families of current students, members of the Capitol Hill community, businesses, foundations and other interested parties in a discussion about Ludlow-Taylor Elementary.  The meeting will focus on participants’ thoughts about the academic direction and programs for the school (such as a three-year-old program).  It also will be a great opportunity to meet staff and parents of current Ludlow-Taylor students and build a common vision.

Community input is essential to making this a success. Please join DCPS to share your input and priorities for the future direction of Ludlow-Taylor at a community meeting:

Date:  Tuesday, March 18th
Time:  6 – 8 PM
Location:  Ludlow-Taylor (659 G St NE, entrance is on 7th Street)

DCPS and Chancellor Rhee have been incredibly responsive during the process leading up to this meeting, and we sincerely believe that they will listen to and act on community input from this meeting. Please come and speak up for what you want in this Capitol Hill neighborhood school (even if you aren’t in bounds for the school but are interested in innovative and academically rigorous programs at Ludlow-Taylor)!
