Please join me for a celebration to present the 1st Annual Livable, Walkable Community Awards on Wednesday, December 5th, 6:00 – 9:00 pm at the East Hall of Eastern Market. To create a truly livable, walkable community, it takes leadership and vision -- not just from those elected to office, but also from our neighbors, city employees, civic organizations, and local businesses. To honor their initiative and hard work, I'm creating this annual award to recognize outstanding efforts for community members in each of these categories.

I hope you will help me celebrate our progress by making a nomination. What does livable, walkable mean to you and who best represents what it takes to make it a reality?

There will be food, drink, cash bar, entertainment and an awards ceremony to honor the recipients of the 1st Annual Livable, Walkable Community Awards. Several of our local merchants and restaurants are sponsoring this celebration, and a suggested contribution of $10 will support the Ward 6 Constituent Services Fund to benefit neighbors of our community in need.
