2nd Annual Kingman Island Bluegrass Festival

Second Annual Kingman Island Bluegrass and Folk Festival This Saturday

Celebrate the revitalization of the Anacostia River with local bluegrass music and outdoor activities on Kingman Island, June 11, 2011 from 1-8 pm at the Second Annual Kingman Island Bluegrass and Folk Festival. The event is free to the public and will have some of the best bluegrass musicians in the area. Participating bands include Second String, The Family Hammer, By and By, Split String Soup, King Street Bluegrass, the Flower Hill String Band and emcee Banjer Dan. The event is brought you by Councilmember Tommy Wells, the Washington Convention and Sports Authority, Living Classrooms, Sierra Nevada and Flying Dog beer and many of our local food trucks who will be on hand and open for business. Also, a free shuttle will transport participants from the Stadium/Armory Metro Station to the island, free parking is available in Lot 6 of the RFK, or it is a 5 minute walk from the Metro Station.
