Councilmember Wells will host this months H Street NE Community Office Hours at the SOVA Coffee, 1359 H Street NE on Thursday, January 28th 2010 from 8:00 - 9:30 AM.  Please join your Councilmember for a morning of discussion on community concerns.

In case you are unable to attend, I thought it would be helpful to share a few updates. As always, give us a call if you have a question.

- Councilmember Wells and ANC Commissioner Mary Beatty will be co-hosting a follow-up to the December community meeting about the recent increase in armed car-jackings. The meeting will be held Thursday, February 4th, 6:30 – 7:30 pm, at Options Public Charter School at the corner of 14th and E Streets, NE.  MPD officials will join the conversation to share updates on progress and discuss what more may be needed.

- Councilmember Wells is seeking a Ward 6 nominee to serve on the new Pedestrian Advisory Council (PAC).  Last year, Councilmember Wells introduced legislation creating the PAC to serve as the advisory body to the Mayor, the Council of the District of Columbia, and District agencies on pedestrian safety issues for the city. Nominations can be made through Councilmember Wells’ website www.tommywells.org and are due by 5:00 pm on February 12th.
