To create a truly livable, walkable community, it takes leadership and vision -- not just from those elected to office, but also from everyone in our community. The annual award seeks to recognize the outstanding efforts of neighbors, city employees, civic organizations, and local businesses.

Over the last couple of years, DC has been named the most “walkable” city in the country, and recognized for great neighborhoods and public spaces. But we still have a long way to go to reach our shared goal and every day, you and our neighbors are making strides.
