Across town last week, Ward 6'ers joined thousands of others in Dupont Circle and across the city to celebrate the city's 32nd Annual Capital Pride Festival -- a week long celebration focused on issues in the LBGT community and organized by Capital Pride.  This year's Pride Week exceeded last years attendance numbers and was sponsored by dozens of local and national diversity groups.

While most of the events take place downtown, Ward 6's own Penn Quarter hosts a portion of Capital Pride Week every year with a street festival along Penn Ave, NW.  The entire week of events was highlighted by an end of the day parade on Sunday that weaved through the streets of Dupont Circle, showcasing exotic floats, marching bands, and a few familiar faces.

Councilmember Wells was one of those familiar faces as he joined in on the fun by taking part in the parade.  He joined the likes of Mayor Fenty, Delegate Norton, and Councilmembers Catania, Graham, Mendelson, Bowser and others as they all took part in the parade and celebrated the diversity of our city.
