Over 30 Attend Tommy Wells DC Listening Tour at Domku Bar & Cafe

May 17, 2013

20130516_0134.jpgOver thirty people came out to last night's Ward 4 Listening Tour to voice their hopes, aspirations and concerns with the future of our city. Tommy Wells greeted each Ward 4 resident as they quickly filled Domku Bar and Cafe on Upshur Street in the Petworth neighborhood. With campaign signs in the window and a packed house ready to be engaged, Max Skolnik, previous Ward 6 ANC, took the mic. "I'm so excited to introduce him as our next Mayor." After working closely with Tommy, Max explained to the crowd how similar efforts and improvements can be made across the city under his leadership.

"I want to know what you need. What has and hasn't been working for you in the city." An instant dialog began with questions from the crowd. Building height regulations, parking requirements, sustainability plans, urban agriculture, small business issues with DCRA, and affordable housing were among the many topics that were discussed.

This was Tommy's seventh stop on his city wide Listening Tour. His final stop will be in Ward 6 on Wednesday, May 29, 7pm, at Smith Commons on H Street NE. RSVP online here.
